Prose, dance and classical music in a sumptuous hall opened in 1872 with gilded decorations and a frescoed ceiling. Despite its small capacity of around 500 spectators, it still ranks among the most beautiful and functional theatres of its time and still attracts artists and companies from all over Europe.
